Vanilla Chai Milkshake

July 7, 2014
Stay cool and refreshed during these hot summer days with the classically fun flavor of vanilla in this yummy Vanilla Chai Milkshake.

With my little 2nd graders the last week of school this year, I focused on ice cream with them.  Yup, we centered all our activities around ice cream ~ reading and compiling information from multiple non-fiction sources about how ice cream is made and its history ... learning about its production and distribution ... inventing our own flavors and writing to describe them ... collecting data about our favorite flavors.  Oh, and eating it, of course!  I mean, you just have  to eat it, right?  Yes, yes you do.

Well can you guess what the favorite flavors of the class were?  There were two ...
Give up?

They were:
1.  Vanilla {which just so happens to be my  favorite}, and
2.  Cookies & Cream ... And, hey, you know what Cookies & Cream is???  Vanilla  with a bunch of cookies crushed in it.

It seems there's a little vanilla love in everyone.  I think sometimes we think of vanilla as a tad boring ... but if it was boring, would everyone love it so much?  I think not!

So the next time someone calls you vanilla,  you go right ahead and take that as a big ol' compliment ... 'cause by my estimation, it means you're their favorite.  I've got 2nd-grader data to prove it.

Now to keep my end-of-school vanilla ice cream theme running into summer, I whipped up this smooth and creamy Vanilla Chai Milkshake ... made extra rich and delicious with Coffee-mate French Vanilla liquid creamer.

See,  vanilla provides a fabulous sensory experience, and its subtle flavor and aroma are the perfect complement to the boldness of coffee ... or the boldness of chai tea!

With its aromatic flavor driven by sweet marshmallow and vanillin notes, I chose Coffee-mate's French Vanilla creamer for my milkshake.  But you could just as easily choose Coffee-mate's Classic Vanilla instead, with its comforting vanilla-beany, woody notes ... a classic vanilla flavor born in the classic American kitchen.

Mmmmm, this Vanilla Chai Milkshake is so yummy, so refreshing, ... and so not  boring ... during these hot summer days.  Yup, if you think vanilla is boring, think again ... with it's wonderfully delicious variety of flavor notes, vanilla is anything  but boring.

I mean, could twenty-three 2nd graders be wrong? ~ there's certainly nothing boring about them  and their  vanilla love.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to do my part to #TakeBackVanilla and go enjoy a Vanilla Chai Milkshake.  Can't you hear the vanilla calling my name?
