Served up with tortilla chips or baguette slices, Cheesy Hot Broccoli Dip is the perfect crowd-pleasing hot dip to enjoy during the big game! Or anytime, for that matter.
The Super Bowl is just ten days away! I'll be watching and pulling for the Patriots {sorry, Seahawks fans}. While my 'hometown' team of the Carolina Panthers weren't fortunate enough to make it to the big game this year, I'm happy that my 'second' team was! Growing up in Vermont, the New England Patriots were 'our' team for my family. I remained a Patriots fan once moving to Charlotte, North Carolina ... but when the Carolina Panthers started up in Charlotte several years after I moved there, I just had to support my new hometown team. And so ... the Panthers became my new 'first' team.
But I've always kept the Patriots in a special place in my football heart!
Now, what's kinda funny about me being excited to watch the Super Bowl is ...
... well, I kinda hate to admit it ...
... I don't actually watch much football during the regular season.
And it's not because I don't like to watch football. I love to watch football.
But my husband? Not so much.
I always find it funny, in an ironic sort of way, that there are so many wives out there who don't care one hoot about football who are married to football-lovin'-watch-it-every-Sunday husbands ... and I'm a wife who would gladly, gladly watch football every Sunday {and deliver up the most tasty spread of football-watchin' treats, too!} and I married a man who gives not even a teeny fraction of a hoot about football.
And so I don't really watch much football during the regular season. I love to watch football. But I love to spend time with my husband ... without torturing him with something he can't stand ... more.
But when it comes to the play-offs and Super Bowl?
That's a different story. Then I watch.
And whip up delicious perfect-for-gameday grub, like this Cheesy Hot Broccoli Dip. There's just something about a hot cheesy dip and football that make them perfect together. Don't you think?
The food will make him forgive me, right?
