Enjoy all your favorite cheeseburger toppings ... on a pizza! ~ with this delicious Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza recipe.
Well, how about we replace that big warm bun with a pizza crust?! That would make this a Cheeseburger Pizza in Paradise! With bacon.
And I think Jimmy Buffett would approve, my friends.
As my Mom always says, I have a juke box in my head. Yes, there's pretty much always a song playing in my mind. It might be a song I've just heard on the radio ... or a hymn from church the past weekend ... or a tune sparked by what someone has just said. Or, as is the case with this Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza recipe, a song inspired by something I'm eating. I mean ... seriously ... who is able to eat a cheeseburger without thinking about Jimmy Buffett's famous song, "Cheeseburger in Paradise"?
Certainly not me! Nope. That juke box in my head queues up Jimmy's song in about a 1/2 a second flat when I hear or see the word 'cheesebuger.'
A red onion slice, to be exact.
Okay, so it's actually more like with an entire red onion, not just a slice. But I still think Jimmy would be okay with it.
And Jimmy may like his cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato ...
But in this pizza, I replaced that lettuce with ... bacon!
So do you think Jimmy would change his lyrics to "I like mine with bacon and tomato...?" It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?
Now, this pizza still has the big kosher pickle, just like Jimmy sings about on his cheeseburger ... it's just diced up and sprinkled all over this delicious heaven-on-Earth Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza.
Okay, so I know what you're probably thinking ... "Pickles on pizza???"
Yes, pickles on pizza. And they're oh so good.
When I first tried it, I had a little trepidation, too. I mean, you just don't usually see pickles on pizza. But, oh my, was I very pleasantly surprised at how amazingly delicious it is!
When the pickles and the ground beef and the bacon and the onion and the melty cheese of this Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza recipe all come together, it's pizza ... and cheeseburger ... divine-ness. Or as Jimmy Buffett has said, truly heaven on Earth with an onion slice.
Several years ago ... okay, so more like many years ago ... I had the pleasure of seeing Jimmy Buffett in concert. It was absolutely the most fun concert I've attended. You just can't help but be happy listening to his classic "Cheeseburger in Paradise" song.
And you just can't help but be happy eating a big juicy cheeseburger, either. Or ... a nice big slice of Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza.
I think Mr. Jimmy Buffett would approve. I think he would very much approve.
