Lemon White Chocolate Chip Cookies ~ a tasty lemon-laced twist to your typical chocolate chip cookies!
My husband doesn't like lemon desserts. Crazy boy.
Fortunately for me, though, I have a 7-year-old in the house and always-willing-to-eat-sweets neighbors who adore lemon ... just like me. Because when I find a lemon dessert idea I want to try, I need a little help taste testing and gobbling up the results.
I'm so glad to have some fellow lemon-lovers nearby to help with that task! Someone's sure got to pick up my husband's slack.
The lemon flavor in these cookies comes entirely from fresh lemon juice and lemon zest ... no lemon extract at all. And I love that.
Well, these Lemon White Chocolate Chip Cookies were indeed one lemon dessert idea I just had to try.
An opinion that was echoed by our sweet 7-year-old Little Miss H. and my very-willing taste-testing neighbors.
The lemon flavor in these cookies comes entirely from fresh lemon juice and lemon zest ... no lemon extract at all. And I love that.
Using only fresh lemon creates a very "clean" tasting lemon flavor without the "harshness," for lack of a better word, that can sometimes come along with lemon extract. It's a prominent, yet mild, lemon flavor that comes through in the finished baked cookies.
A touch of cream of tartar in the dough helps produce a nice rise and helps create their tenderness.
A mild lemon flavor that's beautifully complimented by the sweetness of the white chocolate chips, that is. It's a flavor combination that goes great together.
As for texture, these Lemon White Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft and tender. A touch of cream of tartar in the dough helps produce a nice rise and helps create their tenderness.
They stay soft for several days, and freeze well, too.
So if you're looking for a bit of a different twist to your typical chocolate chip cookies, give Lemon White Chocolate Chip Cookies a try.
Even if my crazy non-lemon-loving husband won't give them a try, the rest of our family and my lemon-loving neighbors can sure vouch for their deliciousness!
